Weatherford

On the 1885 Sanborn insurance map (Sheet 2) there is a small one-story wood calaboose at 220 Palo Pinto Street in the center of City Block 7 in Weatherford, Texas.  It was still there in 1889 (Sheet 3) and 1894 (Sheet 5). In 1894 the calaboose was depicted as being located in city lot 3. It was still in city block 7 in 1900 (Sheet 6) but the address had been changed to 113 Palo Pinto and the building was referred to as a lockup. In 1910 (Sheet 3) the wood lockup was gone and there was a two-story county jail at 202-204 Palo Pinto (city block 22).
