Crawford, Texas (metal cell)

This calaboose and cells are discussed in more detail under the Menu Item “Calabooses” on the Home Page. The cage was made by the Pauly Jail Building Company of St. Louis, Missouri.  This company built similar cells for the jails in Montgomery (Montgomery County), Tyler (Smith County),  and Valley Mills (Bosque County).  The cage consists of two cells with metal bunk beds attached to opposite sides of the wall that divides the two cells.
