This metal cage with two cells was made by the Pauly Jail Building Co. of St. Louis, Missouri and shipped to Texas by rail. Originally, it was housed inside a brick building that was demolished in order to move the cage to private property after it was purchased from the city. According to local resident Mark Greer, there was about two feet of room around the cage. The exact date the calaboose was put into operation is not known.
