Uvalde
This small building is located in downtown Uvalde on the grounds of the recycle center. It measures 11 feet across the front and 9 feet on the sides (99 square feet). There is only one door and it is 30.5 inches by 6.5 feet. There are two windows and possibly a third but the wall is covered with vines making it impossible to know for sure. At 46 inches by 48 inches, the windows could be considered too large for a calaboose but there is a large variation of window sizes among the calabooses documented on this website; from large windows to tiny windows to some with no windows. Therefore, this building cannot be ruled out as a calaboose because of the size of the windows. The offset door also suggests a calaboose. This statement is based on known calabooses that fit this same floor plan. The calaboose in Lakeview (Hall County) has a door offset to the right and the cell is to the left of the entrance. It is very common for a previous calaboose to be used later for a different purpose such as storage or a small office.
